Things True

  • Alexandru Basarab was born in 1431 in Transylvania (Kingdom of Hungary).
  • Andrew is fiercly loyal to the Tzimisce and the Sabbat and complete and utter commitment is what he expects from his childer and his fellow vampires.
  • Andrew believes that the Camarilla is weak because of their tolerance. He believes that to overcome them, the Sabbat must be ruthless and that acts of violence will instill enough fear in them to weaken them further.
  • He particularly dislikes the Toreador (and the Daeva) and the Ventrue due to their insistence on maintaining what is left of their Humanity. Anyone with a strong Humanity, however, would fall into this category as well.

Alexandru was given a soldier’s training when he was very young – his family being very close to the Draculas and the Daneşiti (another sub-family) who were ruling Hungary at that time. He quickly earned a fearsome reputation and was soon fighting underneath Vlad Dracul III. Much torture and death followed Alexandru and his violent leader. In 1462 Mehmed II, the conqueror of Constantinople, a man noted for his own psychological warfare tactics, returned to Constantinople after being sickened by the sight of 20,000 impaled corpses outside Vlad’s capital of Târgoviște. Alexandru had been a part of that display (and proudly), and that is what intrigued his would-be sire. A few weeks after that gruesome act, Alexandru was embraced and taken away (14 years later Vlad Dracul III would be dead..?).

Alexandru travelled through much of Europe, dishing out his torturous punishment on humanity. He eventually settled in Seattle with a covert group of Sabbat many, many years later. He changed his name to Andrew Basar (Drew to most) and has been a very real and evil threat to the Camarilla since.
